Yury Hermuche (guitar, vocals) met Julia Grassetti (bass, cello, piano, vocals) in early 2006, in São Paulo. A few months later they released what became known as the first album of FireFriend, a messy sonic trip sounding like a dirty demotape w/ guitar riffs and cello melodies. It attracted some attention from underground musicians, specially Pablo Oruê (drums), who instantly recognized his musical connections with that sound. Since then, FireFriend has been deeply immersed in a reckless driving through music - releasing new records almost every year, playing gigs here and there, at small clubs & indie festivals; In 2010 the band became a quintet. They welcomed Mondrian Alvez (guitar, bass) and Caca Amaral (guitar, bass) at the record sessions of their new album, '999 to 666 ts street'. Now Judaz Mallet is back to the band to replace Mondrian, who will run our embassy in California. The band is now working in a new album and Brazilian and American tours.
All five members of the band are completely addicted to their LP collections, guitars, stomp boxes, drums, amps. They also enjoy the qualities of water, time'n'space trips, electricity, jazz, cursed writers and unknown bands.
