One of the most interesting things you can do when you’re in a band is take it on the road. Everything can go wrong, but that’s how adventures are—unpredictable. We’ve released 10 LPs in recent years, and most of those records are now in the United Kingdom. People there have listened closely to our LPs, and that energy has an incredible pull. We flew 6,000 miles to get there, then we drove 1,000 more, taking in England and its extreme contrasts and dissonances. Out of those explosive ingredients came some of the bands we love most—and music that was fundamental to our formation. On trips like this, seemingly irrelevant details catch your eye and slowly overflow with meaning; you absorb everything you can—food, drinks, conversations, ideas, images, different scenes.
I’m pulling together a tour diary — videos, live recordings, and photos included — to tell the whole story.
